ABOUT HOSPICE TASTE OF THE TOWN
The 20th annual Hospice Taste of the Town on Tuesday evening, August
19, 2008, at Showplace in High Point will feature an assortment of
foods and drinks from more than 50 restaurants, caterers and
beverage vendors, satisfying eclectic tastes from gourmet to hot
dogs. Food lovers can also enjoy live music and shop during the
silent auction, while children have fun with their own special
activities.
All proceeds from Hospice Taste of the Town benefit Hospice of the Piedmont. Admission is $5 (children under 6 are admitted FREE); food tickets are $1 each.
Advance tickets can be ordered by downloading the ticket order
form or stopping by the Hospice office at 1801 Westchester Drive,
High Point or select branches of NewBridge Bank.
Thousands of people attended the 2007 Hospice Taste of the Town, which raised more than $130,000 for the local Hospice program.
Hospice of the Piedmont receives reimbursement for services from Medicare, Medicaid and private insurers. However, some patients
do not qualify for any reimbursement programs and lack personal funds to pay for care. It is the Hospice philosophy that no
terminally ill person be denied care, regardless of ability to pay. For this reason, community support is vital and Hospice
Taste of the Town is the primary avenue for raising that support.
